  • Italian Society of Chemistry

    The Italian Society of Chemistry (SCI) is the most important organization devoted to popularization, education and dissemination of chemistry in Italy. The web site provides information on events in the field of chemistry as well as on training initiatives and scientific publications. A special section is devoted to the Division of Chemical Education.

  • Minerva. Science for Citizens

    Minerva is a site dedicated to the scientific knowledge. Its aim is to make science, in particular chemistry, attractive and accessible to all citizens. The site contains about 10.000 pages, that can be consulted with the aid of a search engine.

  • Federchimica

    Federchimica (Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry) was born as Federation of chemical companies but its activities have been extended in order to improve the image of chemistry in public opinion and to constantly update the knowledge of people about chemistry and the products of the chemical industry.

  • Focus

    Focus is the most known and red Italian magazine of scientific spreading. It deals with several scientific subjects concerning human life, scientific and technological progress, nature, history of sciences. Focus is edited also in a version for young readers: Focus Junior.

  • Superquark

    Superquark is the oldest and most popular program of scientific dissemination in Italy. Its objective is to satisfy people's curiosity about different subjects, mainly scientific, with the collaboration of experts speaking with a comprehensive but rigorous language and by using the most powerful mass media: the television.

  • Bulgarian National Agency for Vocational Education and Training

    The Bulgarian National Agency for Vocational Education and Training is a specialized body to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria established in 2000. Its mission is: Assuring quality in the vocational education and training; Cooperation with the social partners in implementing coordinated policies for lifelong learning, continuing vocational training and introducing successful European practices; Expanding the access of the unemployed and the employed to vocational education and training according to the labour market needs; Ensuring public access to useful information concerning the continuing vocational training and lifelong learning in the country and in the EU.

  • Continuous Training for Teachers in Bulgaria Project

    The main goals of this project are to raise public awareness of and support the development of a National Lifelong Learning Strategy for Teachers in Bulgaria. The project will be implemented with the participation of all major stakeholders, inter alia, governmental departments responsible for education, teacher trade unions, the Union of Employers within the System of Education, NGOs and providers of educational services for adult citizens.

    STELLA is an interactive and multilingual web portal for all people involved in science education who want to communicate experiences, cooperate, exchange ideas and thoughts on teaching methods and approaches.

  • Center for Educational Initiatives

    Center for Educational Initiatives is a non-governmental, non-profit association aimed at enhancing innovative educational initiatives and facilitating educational reforms through co-operation between institutions on regional and European level.

  • National Network of Virtual Libraries

    Developing of the National network of virtual libraries is the 4-th stage of the National program for creation of virtual educational area, started on 2002. The network includes virtual libraries of all universities and colleges, and the library of Bulgarian Academy of Science as well. It is the biggest Bulgarian informational source supporting the e-Learning initiative of European commission.

    RVP (Rámcové Vzdělávací Programy) Metodický portal Internet portal focused on particular target groups including chemistry teachers and their students. Under the section “Virtualni hospitace”, live discussions and video records from the various lessons can be shared.

  • KSICHT, Correspondence Seminar Inspired by Chemical Thematic KSICHT

    Activities of Prague Charles University students towards their younger secondary school colleagues which are interested particularly in chemistry. Four times a year, KSICHT publishes chemical quizzes for secondary school students and offers joint social events.

    Electronic portal that offers new methods in chemistry teaching in three chemical disciplines, such as inorganic, organic and analytical chemistry via new support materials.

  • New approaches to applied chemistry in education, CITIES

    International project (129193-CP-1-2006-1-DE– COMENIUS–C21) that was running from 01.10.2006 until 30.12.2009. Project produced four teacher training modules which help teachers to make their chemistry lessons more appealing to students by placing the subject in the context of their daily lives.

  • Eugenidio Foundation and NOESIS Science Center and Technology Museum

    Both of these structures are non-profit foundations aiming at promoting technology culture and creating an appropriate environment for informing the public of the latest developments in science and technology. Popularization of science and dissemination of scientific knowledge to the general public are two of the main objectives of both foundations. They are achieved via permanent exhibitions, seminars, informal lectures (eg. Café of science), shows (planetarium, cosmotheatre, virtual reality simulator), educational programs (eg science summer camps) and experimental activities. -

  • Secondary Education Laboratory Centers for Physical Sciences - EKFE

    The Secondary Education Laboratory Centers for Physical Sciences (EKFE) (44 all over Greece) constitute a non-formal educational initiative functioning under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. The EKFEs give the opportunity to groups of secondary school children to perform chemistry experiments and aid teachers in designing and doing chemistry experiments in their own school units (either in class or in labs). The EKFE personnel (science teachers) produce and provide educational material (tests, videos, virtual lab experiments, simple chemical equipment), organize events related to applications of chemistry in everyday life (informal lectures) and prepare students for participating in the chemistry Olympiad and other chemistry competitions.

    The Inter-university Inter-depatmental Program of Graduate Studies on “Chemical Education and New Educational Technologies” (known as “Dixinet”) aims at providing scientific and educational training at graduate level to actual and future secondary teachers of Chemistry in Greece. One of the major goals of the Dixinet Master’s Program is to upgrade the role of the science of Chemistry in society in relation with dealing with modern social problems and to bring out the close connection of chemistry with everyday life phenomena and applications.

  • PARSEL Project

    PARSEL stands for Popularity and Relevance of Science Education for Science Literacy. It is a European Project carried out by a consortium of 8 Universities in 7 countries (Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Israel) and the International Council of Associations for Science Education (UK). During the project, alternative teaching material was developed and tested in order to promote popularization of science and increase the level of scientific literacy. The produced alternative teaching material aims at promoting student interest in science without alienating the teaching from the curriculum intentions.

    GSLLL is an advanced agency supervised by the Ministry of Education and entrusted with the design and implementation of a broad spectrum of Lifelong Learning (LLL) – mostly informal - platforms with a wide impact and equitable accessibility along with its complementary executive agency, the Institute for the Continuous Adult Education (IDEKE). The educational structures which are under the auspices of GSLLL/IDEKE and carry out LLL programmes are the following: Second Chance Schools, Centers for Adult Education, Schools for Parents, The Center of Distance Education for Lifelong Adult Learning, Prefectural Committees for Adult Education and Vocational Training Centers. -

    The European Chemistry Thematic Network Association is composed by 120 members representing 30 different European countries. Higher education institutions, national chemical societies as well as chemical and software companies are included in the ECTN members.

  • Chemistry, A Good Choice

    This Italian web site has the aim to encourage secondary school students to choose to study chemistry at university and further education levels. The web site provides information about work opportunities addressed to students graduated in chemistry, about what kind of jobs are offered to chemists etc. The entire web site is only available in Italian.

    European Commission Programme funding the Chemistry Is All Around Us project. The Lifelong learning Programme was created to enable individuals at all stages of their lives to pursue stimulating learning opportunities across Europe.

    In this site, there are lecture videos, questions and contents that have been prepared with flash animations about the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade’s science and technology subjects. Also, there are various information about the scientists and an environment has been developed in which both teachers and the students can send their studies to one another. In this site, there are flash experiments about science subjects that has been prepared by the teachers.

    In this site, there is a detailed content that one can gain information about chemistry’s all fields. Also, there are writings showing the interrelations of chemistry with the other diciplines. Besides them, in this site there are many thesis about chemistry. The purpose of this site is to develope a Turkish resource for the collage and mastery levels, leading the people in need and helping them to solve their problems.

    This is a site where Chemistry subjets are presented at the basic level. In this site, some information is given about the security of chemistry laboratories, the tecniques of preparing solutions, unit transfomation table and the preparations about pre-experiments.

    German chemistry portal with forum, topic-oriented areas, a campus area with a lot of information, job offers etc. Especially the forum and the campus area deal with a broad spectrum of chemistry issues.

  • Chemie im Kontext

    German and English website of the “Chemie im Kontext” project that aims to further develop chemistry education by developing teaching units with a real-life context which shows the importance of chemistry for everyday life. Knowledge about chemistry is developed in this context and the units show methodological variety.

  • Prof. Blumes Bildungsserver für Chemie

    Published by the Cornelsen Verlag GmbH, this German website offers a vast range of materials, experiments, and information for teaching chemistry in school. One focus is chemistry for children in primary school dealing with everyday-life context. There is also a section on experiments for home.

  • Schulchemie-Online

    German chemistry portal for school students and teachers. A lot of materials and learning programmes for chemistry, plus a collection of materials and experiments dealing with chemistry in everyday-life context.

  • Chemieexperimente

    German website dealing with chemical experiments especially designed for lower secondary level. All experiments are described in detail with images and safety instructions.

  • Arbeitsgruppe Didaktik der Chemie

    German website of the work group didactics of chemistry of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. The overall goal of this work group is to combine chemical and empirical research with science education development. The focus is on skills development for students, related teacher training and in-service training, and the implementation of innovative teaching concepts in school practice.
