Description of activities carried out:

WP 1.1
1) Preparation of the first project meeting (Genoa, Italy 15-16 March 2010):
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project partners' book
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project detailed presentation
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the calendar of activities and the related partners' role
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the partners' contracts and of the related annexes
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project administrative and financial manual
- Preparation of the draft formats for the carrying out of the project activities within the project workpackages.
- Printing of meeting folders for all partners
- Printing of project administrative and financial manual for all partners
- Organization of the logistics for the meeting (i.e. meeting site, accommodation, subsistence etc).
2) Attendance at the first meeting:
- Marilena Carnasciali prepared and presented two power point presentations according to the meeting program: the first was a presentation about the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of Genoa and the second was a report concerning the LLL of scientific subjects in Italy
- Marilena Carnasciali managed the discussion among partners in order to clarify the role of each partner.
3) Production of the minutes of the first meeting:
- the discussions and the presentations carried out during the two days meeting were reported in the minutes.
4) Preparation of the second project meeting (Berlin, Germany, 6-7 September 2010:
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project partners' book
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project detailed presentation
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the calendar of activities and the related partner's role
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project administrative and financial manual
- Preparation of the draft formats for the carrying out of the project activities within the project workpackages.

- Printing of project administrative and financial manual for all partners
- Preparation of two power point presentations for the meeting
5) Attendance at the second meeting:
- Marilena Carnasciali prepared and presented three power point presentations according to the meeting program: the first was a presentation about the activities done so far, the second was a summary of the national report and the third was the draft of the transnational report.
- Marilena Carnasciali managed the discussion among partners in order to plan a common strategy to improve LLL of chemistry in Europe.
6) Production of the minutes of the second meeting:
- the discussions and the presentations carried out during the meeting were reported in the minutes.
7) Preparation of the third project meeting (Genoa, Italy, 31 January 2011):
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project partners' book
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the project detailed presentation
- Preparation, in cooperation with Pixel, of the calendar of last activities
- Printing of meeting folders for all partners
- Preparation of a power point presentations for the meeting
- Preparation and print of adult’s and teacher’s evaluation reports
8) Attendance at the third meeting:
- Laura Ricco prepared and presented a power point presentation about the activities done.
- Marilena Carnasciali managed the discussion among partners about the last results of the project
9) Production of the minutes of the third meeting
10) Preparation of the project conference (Genoa, Italy, 1 February 2011):
- Organization of the logistics for the conference, coffee break and lunch for participants
- Preparation of the meeting agenda including partner’s presentations and guest speakers
- Preparation and sending of conference invitations to teachers, professors, students etc)
- Preparation of gadgets for the participants at the conference (pens, notebooks and cotton bags) with the project logo
- Preparation of three power point presentations: project presentation, presentation about educational package structure and strategy presentation
11) Attendance at the project conference
- Marilena Carnasciali, that was the chairman of the conference, presented the guest speakers, the project and the strategy.
- Laura Ricco and Marina Alloisio made the oral presentation entitled: 'Educational Package: basic rules to approach scientific contents in an amusing but rigorous way'

WP 1.2
The 3 monthly activity reports were produced and uploaded on the project site

WP 1.3
The national activity report was produced according to the guidelines and sent to Pixel

WP 1.4
The national financial report was produced according to the guidelines and sent to Pixel

Outcomes:

The first meeting was very useful because activities related to work packages and partner's role were discussed and clearly defined.
During the second meeting the work produced by partners was discussed ad appreciated. The work was done by keeping the official deadlines.
The discussion during the second meeting was very stimulating and a high level strategy for LLL of chemistry in Europe was approved.
The third meeting allowed partners to discuss the results of the project and, in particular, the portal evaluation by end users. The overall results were very positive.
The organization of a national conference to disseminate the project results underlines that the main objectives of the project have been reached.

Evaluation of the work undertaken:

All partners worked well and their activities were done by keeping the official deadlines and the project guidelines.
A good agreement concerning the strategy to implement the LLL of scientific subject was reached and disseminated
