ACTIVITIES REPORT
Partners' Institution:
T.E.I of the Ionian Islands
Project's period (from/to):
01 March 2010 - 30 November 2010
WPs concerned:
WP 3 - Development of a European Strategy for the promotion of Life Long Learning in Scientific Subjects

Objectives of activities carried out:
-Production of a National report based on the literature review and the interviews carried out in WP2

-Suggestion of a strategy for the promotion of Life Long Learning of scientific subjects with an emphasis on Chemistry

Production of the National Report focusing on the barriers that affect LLL of scientific subjects, the analysis of effective strategies-initiatives-didactical solutions, and the proposal of a strategy for encouraging LLL of science.

Feedback on Transnational Report
Identification of a Strategy for the promotion of LLL of scientific subjects

Time period:
March - November 2010

Description of activities carried out:
WP3.1
The 15 documents and 5 strategies concerning LLL policies in Greece that were identified and reviewed at the beginning of the month, were used as a basis for producing a first draft of a National report

WP3.1
By taking into account the literature review already completed in May 2010 and the Case Study analysis which was done during June 2010, the initial draft of the National Report was extended and enriched in order to produce the final National Report.

WP3.3
- We aided at the production of the final version of the Transnational Report by commenting/adding/revising the initial draft provided by the Italian partner, focusing mainly on the part concerning Greece.

- Wrote our proposal regarding a unified European strategy for the promotion of LLL of scientific subjects. This proposal was used by the Italian partner in order to to be incorporated in the final unified strategy which was produced and appeared on line at the Project Portal

Outcomes:
-A first draft of a National Report was produced, ca 3000 words in length. The report focused on the main barriers to LLL of chemistry, effective initiatives to overcome these barriers and strategies for promoting life long Chemistry learning.
- A power point presentation was produced for presentation of this first draft at the project kick-off meeting in Genoa (March 15-16, 2010).

The National Report was produced and sent to Connectis for uploading on the Project Portal. The final Report is ca 13000 Words long and supported by 60 in total bibliographical references as well as the original results of the case study analysis

Final version of Transnational Report
Final version of common strategy for the promotion of LLL of scientific subjects

Evaluation of the work undertaken:
The work was well received by the colleagues from the rest five countries

The National Report of the Greek partner is completely focused on the subject of the project, ie lifelong learning with emphasis on Chemistry. A novel strategy proposal for promotion of LLL of scientific subjects has been produced.

A great deal of collaborative work was done in this part of the project and resulted in a commonly accepted result of very high quality
