Chemie entdecken

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE:

Chemie entdecken is an experimental competition for students of secondary schools of all school types in North Rhine-Westphalia. The competition takes place twice annually in spring and autumn

OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE:

The objectives are to encourage experimentation, to pick up everyday matters, to discover interesting aspects of chemistry of our immediate surroundings, to stimulate interest in chemistry outside the classroom.

TARGET GROUP OF THE EVENT:

Students

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVENT:

The competition will include chemistry experiments which shall be done by the students with simple means at home.
About this experiment the students shall report in writing. For various forms, there are also additional questions to be answered as well.

IMPACT OF THE EVENT:

Local, regional impact.

RESULTS REACHED:

About 9.000 to 10.000 participants per year.

EVALUATION OF THE INITIATIVE:

The competition is an incentive for students to deal with chemical issues.
