H2O and CO. – The BASF Kids’ Lab for kids

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE:


1996 at BASF an evaluation of PR activities for students and young people was conducted, It was noted that there are no suitable offers for children aged 6 to 12. This was the start of a comprehensive youth-PR approach. In collaboration with a hands-on exhibitions, and specialized agency of the University of Frankfurt, the concept of "H2O and Co. - The BASF Kids' Lab” has been developed for children..

OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE:

Notwithstanding the usual school strucutres and situations, pupils shall get in touch with hands-on Chemistry

TARGET GROUP OF THE EVENT:

Teachers, pupils

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVENT:

Classes come to visit the BASF and get the opportunity to experiment themselves in the BASF teaching labs. The experiments suit the age of the children and come out of the every day contact the children have with Chemistry

The project is very sought after. There are long waiting lists and the labs have reached their limit
