TITLE OF THE INITIATIVE:

Interactive Exhibition of Science and Technology – Permanent Exhibition with thematic area: Matter and Materials

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE:

This is one of the three thematic areas of the permanent exhibits of the Interactive Exhibition of Science and Technology, which is related to Chemistry. It consists of 22 interactive exhibits. The public has the chance to learn a lot related to matter and materials (eg mass and volume, hydrophobicity and hydrophilia, states of matter etc) by interacting with the exhibits.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE:

The initiative aims at bringing the world of science closer to the general public and increase the level of chemical (and scientific) literacy.

TARGET GROUP OF THE EVENT:

Children and adults. Exhibition open to the general public and also to organized school visits

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVENT:

There are three suggested ways of visiting the exhibition: a) free visit b) Specially Designed Educational visit (lasting 90 minutes and aiming at achieving specific educational goals) c) Educational visit “Solve the mystery”

IMPACT OF THE EVENT:

The initiative has national impact because many organized school visits take place each year. However, the impact has not been measured using standard statistical methods

EVALUATION OF THE INITIATIVE:

The initiative uses a winner formula for scientific dissemination, however no systematic evaluation of its success is available.
