DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

The aim of this study is to develop a worksheet to be used as a guide material by in teaching the relationship between pressure and boiling point of a liquid. Firstly, interviews were carried out with 36 students to find out students’ misconceptions as either individually or as a group. And then, a worksheet was developed to remedy misconceptions from students’ minds and to provide effective teaching of this topic without misconceptions. Constructivist learning perspective and students’ misconceptions in the interviews were taken into account during the development stage of the worksheet. The worksheet was implemented in a secondary school classroom with 24 students. The results of this study showed that this material is very successful to remedy students’ misconceptions and to provide effective teaching. According to results, some implications for chemistry teaching were made.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:

The worksheet which has been developed by this study can be effectively used by teachers of chemistry and science at primary and secondary level.
