This study argues that researches on the science instruction have shown that students have many misconceptions about solutions as in the other subjects of science. In order to minimize misconceptions and make learning permanent, a lot of methods and techniques have been developed. In this research, Cooperative Learning Method and Traditional Learning Method are compared by considering the criteria of both academic success of students and their attitudes toward the lessons. According to the results of the comparison between these two methods, this study has found that Cooperative Learning Method is more successful than Traditional Method. Furthermore, it was seen that the students, in the group of Traditional Learning Method, had showed negative attitudes toward lessons performed by using a laboratory.
The study is useful for teachers and academicians working on misconceptions
