TITLE OF THE INITIATIVE:

Undergraduate curriculum in chemical engineering

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE:

The project aims at joint development of curriculum for Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. The project is one year.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE:

Implementation Tasks:
• review of existing curricula for Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering;
• review of the contents and volume of required and elective courses included in this curriculum;
•ECTS credits;
• professional and state accreditation of undergraduate training in Chemical Engineering;
• study opportunities (academic and legal) for the issue of joint and double degrees in chemical engineering

TARGET GROUP OF THE EVENT:

Students - Bachelor's degree program

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVENT:

• Collecting and sharing information;
•Joint workshops on analysis and summary of information collected;
• Development of joint training materials;
• Mobility of teachers to deliver lectures;
• Release of joint authored textbooks;
• Ongoing management of the project.

IMPACT OF THE EVENT:

This is an international project involving universities from Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, France and Scotland.

RESULTS REACHED:

• Development and introduction of a new curriculum for a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering;
• Agreement for a joint degree with Technical University Hamburg-Harburg;
• 3 textbooks issued in French;
• Updated 11 lectures;
• Web-based interactive course in chemical engineering in English, for use by all partners.

EVALUATION OF THE INITIATIVE:

Evaluation of the necessity of setting a new curriculum in chemical engineering for Bachelor's degree program. This requires graduates to have greater awareness of the labor market and be actively involved in lifelong learning.
