In order to increase the enthusiasm of the students for chemistry, the concepts of two school projects, their implementation and financing will be presented. One of the projects, the nutrition project, is for the students. The objectives of the project are for example the facilitation of creativity, an improvement of self-respect of the students by learning by teaching, to get practical skills and knowledge of the nutrients and the nutrition. The other project is called “Brauseprojekt” and is for the teachers of elementary schools. In cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the company ThyssenKruppSteel, students of higher classes upgrade teachers from the elementary school by “teaching” chemistry.
The projects are quite interesting because they shall give suggestions for primary school teachers to integrate chemical subjects in their courses and they shall improve the networking of schools. Furthermore, the projects can develop a positive attitude to chemical subjects even under younger pupils.
