TITLE OF THE INITIATIVE:

Schulpartnerschaft Chemie

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INITIATIVE:

The initiative Schulpartnerschaft Chemie exists since 2001. For the next two years the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie invests a further 6,6 million euros.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE:

The objective is a modern, exiting chemistry class in everyday life in the school.

TARGET GROUP OF THE EVENT:

Teachers, pupils.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EVENT:

The teachers get money so that they can purchase equipment and chemicals for experiments. The fund also invested in information material for teachers and pupils, for example information series on current topics such as renewable raw materials and biotechnology. Activities will encourage partnerships between universities and schools, projects for the teaching of chemistry as well as the education and training of teachers.

IMPACT OF THE EVENT:

Local, regional, national impact.

RESULTS REACHED:

Since the start of the initiative in 2001, about 17 million € for a better and more attractive school were spent by the German chemical industry.

EVALUATION OF THE INITIATIVE:

The chemical industry provides schools the opportunity to get additional funding. This is a good way to improve the teaching of the participating schools.
