Chemistry in Science Fiction

The Scientist in Science Fiction

Step 1 - Activities

Have a closer look at the scientists and their assistants presented in the films and check
  • What is their profession or what kind of science do they represent?
  • Are the scientists employed by a company or organisation or are they independent and self-employed?
  • What is their status (head of department, engineer, scientist, assistant)?
  • Do they work alone or in a team?
  • What kind of people are being portrayed? Consider age, sex, are they married or do they have a partner, do we learn something about their private life?
  • And last, but not least: Are the scientists still the same at the end of the film?
